Hey all :) This week was a fantastic week and full of miracles. Kevin
and Sheri got married on Friday and baptized on Saturday! It was so
stinking awesome :) The relief society put together the wedding in the
gym at the Ward building that we meet at and it looked so pretty! Her
colors were blue and white and there were tons of flowers (they were
fake but still pretty) I got to do her makeup for her wedding which
was super fun! Kevin was so nervous and he kept asking me if his tie
was straight haha what a cutie. It was fun to meet all of their family
members and friends :) The lady who did Sheri's hair was super nice
her name is Linda and she had tons of questions about the Book of
Mormon and about the gospel that sister Cundick and I were able to
answer. And she lives in our area so we are hoping to start teaching
her!!!
Then the very next day they were baptized! Wahoo!! Sister Starnes,
Sister Wright, and Sister Campbell were all able to come back and be a
part of the baptism which was really awesome! The spirit at the
baptism was so strong and I'm not gonna lie I definitely cried haha
surprise, surprise. I will never forget that day and the spiritual
experience that it was :) Kevin and Sheri are so solid and have
already set the date for April 12 to be sealed in the temple and they
are really excited :)
We were able to have dinner with Sylvia this week and she is doing
awesome! Her baby is as cute as ever and she is going to be getting
visiting teachers soon so that will be good for her. Jeff was able to
come to church this week! He has been really sick and his mother in
law passed away so he has been busy. But it was perfect because Kevin
and Sheri were confirmed so he was able to reminisce his baptism and
confirmation :) Plus Jamie tagged along and she came up to us after
sacrament and asked us if we could come back with President Jardine!
Such a miracle.
Oh ya and transfers happened! Sister Cundick and I will be staying
here for another transfer!! Yippee :)
Andrew and Lanaya never came to church and we weren't able to meet
with Spencer this week. Bummer!
I love you all and hope you have a great week!
Much Love,
Sister Munk ✌🏼️

Temple are a house of God
Hello everyone!!
This week was awesome :) I love General Conference so much and I hope
you all got the chance to watch or listen to it this weekend. Watching
it as a missionary was such a new experience for me and really changed
the way I listened. I loved all the talks about going to the temple
and it was perfect because all the sisters in the zone got to go to
the temple this week and it was an awesome experience. I am so blessed
and grateful to have a temple so close to me on my mission and back
home in Utah. Plus President Monson announced 4 new temples! How cool
is that?!
Ok so this week started off really slow and not a lot happened. But on
Thursday we went to the temple like I already talked about and after
that Sister Starnes, Davis, Cundick and I went to the old spaghetti
factory for lunch :) it was delicious! Right before we started eating
Sheri called us and told us that her and Kevin had finally made the
decision to be baptized the day after they get married. Sister Cundick
and I are so excited for them :) We have been going over to their
house like everyday this week helping them and the Ward plan the
wedding! It is going to be an awesome time and now an even better
weekend because they are entering the waters of baptism together!
During the morning session of conference Kevin and Sheri came to the
stake center and watched it with us. It was perfect because they were
able to see the prophet speak and they really liked what he had to
say. After conference Sheri looked at me and said we need to talk
about going to the temple. That is something I really want. I almost
started crying I was so happy :) I told them that in a year from
Saturday they can go through and be sealed and I told them I would be
there to see it! They are already really excited about going to the
temple and doing baptisms for their deceased ancestors.
The rest of our investigators are for some reason all at a stand
still. They are either to busy or stubborn but we keep praying for
them and we have faith that they will feel the Lords love for them and
come around.
Well I love you all and hope you have a great week!
Happy birthday to my cute great grandma Miles on Sunday and to Elder
VanWagoner on Friday!

Engaged (NOT ME)
Hello everyone!! So this week flew by so dang fast and so much has happened :) First, HAPPY EASTER! I hope you all had a very spiritually uplifting Easter Sunday. I know I did :)
So on Tuesday Sister Cundick and I went on exchanges with Sister Wright and Sister Lillie. I went to Carmichael and worked with Sister Lillie in the YSA ward. It was really fun and super busy! We taught 2 lessons and then biked around and did a lot of finding. Sister Lillie is really awesome and a super hard worker. We had fun and worked hard. Then we exchanged back on Wednesday and I said goodbye to Sister Wright because she is going home in 2 weeks. After that Sister Cundick and I got a text from Kevin and Sheri and it said "Hey when you get a second come take a look at what happened to our front lawn." We were super confused and the whole way biking there we were trying to guess what it could be. (I'll send a picture) Kevin and Sheri are finally getting married!!!! woohoo Sheri spray painted "MARRY ME" on the front lawn :) :) :) I am so freaking excited!!! They are going to be married at the church by the bishop on the 8th of April and then baptized a few weeks later! Best news ever! They are so happy and they keep telling everyone about their engagement haha so looks like Sister Cundick and I are planning a wedding (my dream come true)
Thursday we had a really awesome District meeting and we set a zone and district goal for the month of April. I am really excited about April lots of awesome things are happening :) Our district goal is 5 and our zone goal is 8. Sister Cundick and I have made a goal of 3 (Kevin, Sheri, and Spencer) so it is definitely going to push us and stretch us but we know it can happen! Nothing too exciting happened the rest of the week but we did have the Mather ward party on Saturday and the weather was so awesome! We got to help hide the Easter eggs for the primary kids so that was fun :) The whole time at the party Sheri and the other women in the ward were talking about the wedding! The whole Mather ward is so excited for them!! Hooray for fellowshipping haha Saturday night we went tot he stake center with the other Sisters in the zone and watched the General Women's broadcast which was super awesome and I took lots and lots of notes :) I cant wait for conference :) I feel like it is going to be extra special watching it as a missionary because your perspective on everything is so different now (at least mine is haha)
On Sunday we rode our bikes to church which was a fun early morning ride :) That's what happens when you run out of miles for the month... whoops :) In the Anatolia ward the sacrament talks were amazing! (they were good in Mather too) Brad Wilcox (awesome church speaker) has a son and he is totally in the Anatolia ward and he gave on of the best talks I have ever heard in a sacrament meeting! I wish I would have recorded it haha It was all about putting away the natural man in us and looking to God for help and direction. Then after church we had a super fun dinner with the Tovar family and then we went to the Cuttings home for dessert and a lesson with Spencer. He is totally into it and progressing really well. He always has lots of good questions so it keeps us on our toes and I love it! He will hopefully be baptized soon :) He shared a cool experience he had that week. He told us that he was driving home and it was like 10:30pm so it was dark and he saw a car pulled to the side of the road with its hazards on but he kept driving because he didn't want to pull over and risk being like jumped or something (this isn't cute little btown folks haha) but he said that when he stopped at the red light like 2 miles ahead he got this feeling that he should turn around and help. So he did and he found out that the car had gotten a flat tire and the lady who owned it was pregnant and had 2 kids in the car, her phone was dead, and she didn't know how to change a tire. So he helped her and went home. He told us that when he was laying in bed that night he realized that the Holy Ghost was probably what prompted him to help her. It was so amazing to see him connect the dots and figure out how the spirit talks with him. He is awesome!
Well I hope you all have a great week! I love you all :)
Love,
Sister Munk

Sylvias Baptism
This week was a really good one! I hit four months and sister Cundick hit one :) exciting stuff! Then of course Sylvia got baptized this Saturday! It was awesome and she is so solid and loves this gospel so much. She bore her testimony after her baptism and told her life story and how she came to know this church was true. It was so powerful and the spirit was so strong! She has gone through a lot of unfortunate things to get where she has gotten but with the gospel now in her life she says it was all worth it. She can't wait to raise her baby girl (who is now 4 months old and the cutest thing ever besides baby Kamden) in the gospel. I love Sylvia and I know that we will stay close for the eternities!
A cool miracle happened this week. Remember the Andrew guy that we were working with a while back...well his girlfriend Lanaya called us out of the blue and told us that they wanted to come to church and start learning more. It was awesome :) they have both been meeting with a family friend who is a bishop somewhere in west sac and they have been trying to receive an answer through prayer about Joseph Smith. We had a really good discussion with them about how prayer works and how sometimes we have to wait for our answer and work for it. Our answers don't always just show up. Sometimes after the trial of our faith is when we receive our answer. Ether 12:6 talks about that. Anyways so they came to the Mather Ward along with Kevin and Sheri :) Maria didn't show up again though so that was a bummer.
On Saturday the Anatolia Ward had a big Easter party and there were tons of nonmembers there and it was so freaking awesome!! I love it when members do missionary work. It is so much more effective when the members of our wards work with us to find people. The Tovar family brought some friends who have actually been driving like 45 minutes every Sunday to come to church with them. Her name is Jennifer and her daughter is Katie. Her and her daughter have been taught the lessons before but didn't feel ready to be baptized but now Katie the 10 year old really wants to so we have to work it out with the mission president but she could potentially be baptized into our Ward since that is where she goes. We will see though! Spencer also showed up and finally talked to us. He has been super busy and hasn't been able to meet for a while so I was starting to get really annoyed haha I am super patient as you all know... So I went up to him and we started talking and then I said so do you even want to get baptized or what? He laughed and said yes I do and I promise I'll be at church! And he was and he loved church :) his little brother who is 9 came with him because he is his legal guardian and he had such a fun time in primary. We got a text from him last night and he told us that he feels like this is what he needs in his life :) hooray!!
Well I am out of time but I love you all and hope your week is fantastic and I hope you can all go check out the new Easter video on lds.org it's the #hallelujah one. It is really good!

Zone Conference and RAIN...
Hello everyone!!
This week has been a rainy rainy week! Sister Cundick and I have been so grateful that we have a car because it has been pouring all week and the wind has been crazy! But that's what happens when you have an entire state praying for rain I guess. Haha hopefully the rain clears up soon so we can bike some more :)
On Tuesday Sister Cundick had her 2 week new missionary meeting and President Jardine gave a training and it was really good :) All about obedience and how when we are exactly obedient we will see blessings and miracles. On Wednesday I had my first experience waxing a car which I'm sure was hilarious to watch because I had no idea what I was doing and neither did Sister Cundick. I just kept thinking of Karate kid... Wax on wax off! It ended up pretty shiny after so yay! We had to wax it because we had my very first zone conference and they have to check your cars and the cleanest cars get prizes! The zone conference was awesome!! I got to see Hermana Stevens :) President and Sister Jardine gave us some trainings about prayer and how powerful it can be. Something that I am going to work on is listening after I pray. Just staying there on my knees and listening for the spirit. Usually I just get caught up with the rush of the day and I say "amen" and get on my way but prayer is a 2 way conversation between us and our father in heaven so we need to listen. Then we broke off and had a training on using our iPads while teaching. It really is such a blessing to have iPads on the mission. It is so nice to be able to show people videos right on the spot or search a scripture or talk quickly. We are blessed! Then we met with the APs (Assistants to the President) they gave a training on using the Book of Mormon to answer questions. The musical Book of Mormon has been playing here in downtown Sacramento so a lot of people are becoming aware of us Mormons. Even though the musical is not exactly promoting the church in a good way the musical is sparking a lot of people's interest. We have had elders at the doors of the theater passing out Books of Mormon and saying "The book is always better than the show. Read it!" Haha I think it's awesome! So our mission president has been making a big push for us as missionaries to really be familiar with the Book of Mormon so that we will be better prepared to answer questions that people may have. I love the Book of Mormon so much! If you haven't read it and prayed about it then do it!! (Moroni 10:3-5) The rest of the conference was awesome and super spiritually uplifting as always. Thursday was Sister Cundicks 1 month mark! So to celebrate we got chocolate malts from the Habit :) We also got a new investigator who has been taught most of the lessons from missionaries in her previous area and totally wants to be baptized :) hooray!! Also the craziest thing happened on Saturday! So some the sisters in our zone had a baptism on Saturday and we really wanted to bring Sylvia so that she could start getting excited about being baptized. (She has been on date for the 19th since the beginning of this month) So she came and loved it and we asked her if afterwards we could have a lesson with her because your supposed to have their baptism interview done a week before their baptism so that they can announce it at church but we still had to teach the law of chastity, word of wisdom, and tithing so we went for it and taught her a simplified version of all three after the baptism and she totally knew it already! She just kept saying "Ya I get it I can do that easy. No problem!" So after we committed her to live those three things she was ready to be interviewed and she passed!! Woohoo so Sylvia is going to be baptized on Saturday at 2:00!!!! I am so excited :) I love her and can't wait for her :)
I hope you all had a great week and I hope you have an even better week this week! Love you all!!
Oh ya and happy birthday shout out to my cute cousin Emma and Stockton and Link! Love you :) Thanks for all the prayers I have been feeling a lot better :)

Book of Mormon
Hey everyone! This week started out really well. We had a lesson with Kevin and Sheri about the gospel of Jesus Christ and we used the Book of Mormon as we taught and it went super well. They are loving the scriptures and have been pretty good about reading as a couple every night :) Speaking of the Book of Mormon I finished reading it this week! Hooray :) Now I am going to start again and I am going to study the Christlike attributes listed in pmg :) I am excited! On Tuesday we had service at the food bank and then finding for the rest of the day. We probably knocked on like 20 doors and no one was home/answered but we did get to talk with a few people on the street and even though none of them were interested they were all really nice. Tuesday night after dinner we met with an investigator for the first time and Sister Cundick took the lead in teaching the restoration:) she did a fabulous job and by the end of the lesson she asked us when she could be baptized!! So she is hopefully going to be baptized on the 19th of this month :) Her name is Silvia so pray for her! On Wednesday we rode around all of Mather and talked to everyone we saw! Then we went to Anatolia for dinner with the Payne family :) they are awesome!! After that we went to Kevin and Sheris house and read the Book of Mormon with them. On Thursday we had a really awesome zone training. We talked a ton about the importance of the Book of Mormon. We are going to try as a zone to use the Book of Mormon especially moroni's promise (Moroni 10:3-5) while we are contacting people. If you haven't read the Book of Mormon all the way through do it! And if you have do it again! I promise that as you study and ponder the book you will feel your Heavenly Fathers love for you and the Holy Ghost will testify of the truthfulness of it to you. I love the Book of Mormon and I know without a doubt that it is true and that this gospel is the same gospel that Jesus Christ established when he was here on earth. I know that we have a modern day prophet on the earth today and I know he has been called of God to lead and guide us. I would not be on my mission away from my friends and family teaching it to people if I didn't believe it. I have prayed and asked God and through the Holy Ghost I know it's true. I love you all and I hope you have a great week!!

Sister Cundick
Hey everyone!!
So this week has been a rather interesting week definitely a roller coaster kind of week. It started off with transfers and as most of you know I am training but our new missionaries didn't get here until Wednesday so Sister Starnes and I stayed together until then. That also meant that until Wednesday we were covering Anatolia, Mather, and Goethe Park Ward. It was kind of crazy! I did get to eat dinner with a family friend who lives in the Goethe Park Ward though so that was fun :) On Wednesday morning we woke up and I was so freaking nervous! When we got to the mission office President and Sister Jardine explained that picking who would be trainers was the first thing they did and they did it prayerfully so it made me feel better knowing that Heavenly Father chose me to do this which means that he will help me do this. Then all the cute new missionaries walked in (7 Sisters and only 2 Elders...we are taking over!!) then one by one President Jardine read their transfer calls and we met our trainees :) So I am training Sister Cundick :) She is from Herriman, Utah and she is such a sweetheart. She went to a semester at UVU before her mission and she has two brothers and a sister. Her hobbies include painting nails, hanging out with her 4 best friends and dancing. She really is such a cutie and she is super ready to work hard and baptize!! Her first day we got on our bikes and did some street contacting and read the Book of Mormon with Kevin and Sheri. Then we tried a bunch of potentials (with no success) so we decided to try some less actives (with no success) hahaha poor girl her first day and no one wanted to listen to us. The whole week has been so slow because literally no one will listen or even open their doors. Unfortunately the rest of the week was also a crazy roller coaster with one of our investigators named Mary. We had a really good lesson with her and we put her on date for March 26th. She was really excited about it and couldn't wait. Then we find out that she freaking lives with her boyfriend who happens to be a less active member. Ugh! So assuming that he knew she couldn't be baptized until they were married or he moved out we made an appointment with her for Sunday night and we were going to teach the law of chastity. Woohoo. They came to church together and loved it (keep in mind that this was our third lesson so her and her second time at church) after the Mather Ward we had Ward council for Anatolia and then sacrament. (We are at church typically from 7:30-4:00 every Sunday!) During sacrament Bishop Fink from the Mather Ward texted us and said I need to meet with you Asap come to my office. So we did and he explained to us that he met with Mary and her boyfriend and told them that she couldn't be baptized until she was married and then some other things as well and it ended badly and they left upset and probably weren't going to want to meet with us again. Awesome right? So we texted her and asked her if we were still good to meet and we got like a 6 page text back about how they had no idea they had to be married and they had no intention of being married for at least a year. So she dropped us :( It was so sad and I was super frustrated but then we had an awesome lesson with Spencer and we put him on date for March 26 and he said yes! He lives in a home all alone :) hooray!!!
All week I have been thinking of the scripture in 2Nephi 31:20 especially the part that says press forward with a steadfastness in Christ. Nothing is worse than a slow, long, unsuccessful day but I have really tried to keep pressing forward having faith that someone will listen. Then I decided maybe instead of being so annoyed that no one is interested I should focus on the good things that are happening and this is what I came up with.
Mather: Silvia wants to be baptized all we have to do is meet with her and teach her everything
We just met Edith and she is really cool and semi interested
Anatolia: Spencer is on date!!
The Ward is praying for someone to teach
Life: I am healthy and my family is healthy and awesome
Sister Starnes is still in my zone so we get to party on PDAY
Sister Cundick is super sweet and a fabulous teacher already
See there are plenty of things! I challenge all of you who read this (if anyone even does besides my mom) to sit down and make a list of the good things and focus on them instead of focusing and worrying about the bad. Well I love you all and hope you have an awesome weekend :)
Keep Spencer and Silvia in your prayers!!
Love you lots!
