8/16/2016 Transfers :))

Hey family and friends :) hope you are all just doing fabulous! This
week we had a lot of good things happen and a lot of changes :) To
start off we had some awesome lessons with our one and only
investigator Nana! She is doing really well and progressing pretty
quickly :) on Monday night we taught her the restoration and she had a
lot of really good questions. As we taught her about Jesus Christ's
ministry on the earth and then the apostasy she stopped us and said
"Thats so sad. But wait did the gospel come back?" We about died! What
a perfect transition haha when we taught her about the restoration of
the gospel you could see the spirit working with her. On Wednesday we
taught her the plan of salvation and you could see her eyes light up
when we told her she could be with God again. After we taught her the
plan of salvation we asked her how she felt about Christ's atonement
and she said it made her feel happy and hopeful. Her responses really
stuck with me. In our crazy, fast moving world it's almost like people
are too busy for Christ, to busy to listen to him to accept him. It
amazes me that when people just stop, take a moment and listen the
spirit jumps in and does his job. Nana had some sort of hope that the
gospel and been brought back and knowing she had a savior who died for
her made her happy and gave her hope. Hope is what we need today. In
preach my gospel it says this about hope. "When you have hope, you
work through trials and difficulties with the confidence and assurance
that all things will work together for your good. Hope helps you
conquer discouragement. The scriptures often describe hope in Jesus
Christ as the assurance that you will inherit eternal life in the
celestial kingdom." I know we all go through different things that are
hard and almost impossible to overcome but if we can rely on our
savior and have hope, we will be able to work through our trials with
the assurance that all things will work out for our good. We have so
many people on our side cheering us on so keep going, endure!
Anyways, the rest of the week went swell :) sister Kaufusi and I were
able to attend the 5 week new missionary meeting (it's hard to believe
it's been 7 weeks...) the meeting was really good and we learned a lot
about finding and teaching. Then we washed our car at our bishops
house haha we have like the greatest bishop in the world :)
A lot of things changed this transfer! Sister Kaufusi and I are
staying together woohoo!!! Sister Beck is leaving us :( I am gonna
miss that girl!! Hermana Stevens is home! What the?! Everyone is
leaving!!! Lol Sister Kaufusi and are super excited to be staying
together because we have the same birthday and we will be together for
it!! Isn't that crazy?!? Both of us were born September 25, 1996. We
are TWINS!! The Lord knew if he put us in the same families our poor
parents would go crazy so he had to separate us lol #weareahotmess
Well I hope that everyone has an awesome week! Read your scriptures,
say your prayers, share the gospel with someone :) ya know all that
good stuff! Oh and pray for Nana she is on date for the 27th :)
Love you lots!

Get ready for a picture overload!!!

8/8/16 Nana came to Church

Hey everyone!!! So this week was a really good one :) Sister Kaufusi
and I have been working on being more diligent and we have truly seem
the blessings that come from striving to be our best. So here is the
big news. We were having a lesson with Tequila and going into it we
were just frustrated because there could be no real progression with
Tequila until she gets married so we had to pray and just ask for a
miracle. When we went to teach her with a member and her daughter Nana
decided to sit in and participate. Then her daughter made the comment
that she wanted to get baptized and go to church. What?! It was
amazing!! So later this week sister Kaufusi and I went to her home and
talked to her and her mom about being baptized. Tequila gave us
permission to teach Nana and Permission for her to be baptized! So
Nana is going to be baptized August 27th!!!! Yippee :) We are so
excited! We put her on date on Saturday and she came to church the
next day for all three hours :) She is 14 so a member had to drive her
and Sister Kaufusi and I went to Sunday school and young women's with
her. She loved it and tonight we are meeting with her to have a lesson
:) After church she kept telling everyone that she is going to be
baptized on the 27th. You can tell she is super excited. Seriously it
is such a blessing and I know that our prayer for a miracle was
answered. Not in the way we thought but answered still. I know that we
have a loving Heavenly Father and that he wants the best for us. He
wants us to have success and joy and if we turn to him in all things
he will help us. For the Lord gives no commandment unto the children
of men save he shall prepare a way for them.
We also had interviews this week with President and Sister Jardine. I
love those people so much! I am pretty sure we have the most humble,
intelligent, kind and loving man in the world as a mission president.
I am so grateful for him and for his love. During our interview we
talked about how fast time is flying. I told him that I have been out
for 9 months and his time as mission president is almost up. It's hard
to believe that in a week I will hit my 9 month mark. I am so grateful
to be here and have 9 more to go! I am going to make the last half
even better than the first!
Everyone pray for Nana that she will be able to make the progress she
needs in order to enter the waters of baptism on the 27th of August!!
Love you all and hope you have a fantastic week!
Love,
Sister Munk

Aug 1, 2016 What the August?

Hello everyone! Happy August :) It's hard to believe that summer is
coming to an end, time sure is flying! Good news I am feeling tons
better!! Sister Kaufusi and I are back to work :) The work right now
is slow but we are hopeful that it will pick up :) Tequila is kind of
a hot mess right now. Her boyfriend has decided he isn't interested
and due to some complicated things they probably aren't going to get
married or make any changes any time soon :( We are still working with
her but it's not looking to promising. It's ok though because this
week we had a zone blitz in our area and the amazing elders and
sisters in our zone came and worked in our area and we have some
promising potentials! So stay tuned :)
The weather here in Sacramento has been hot! Like one day it was 110
degrees outside. And we were biking. We are dying!! Haha but don't
worry we take lots of shade breaks and we have been drinking lots of
water :) #prayforrain
This Sunday our ward met all together during third hour and our
bishopric talked to us about the Book of Mormon. Our ward is doing a
"Just read the Book!" initiative and it is awesome! Honestly the Book
of Mormon is amazing and I have grown and learned so much from
studying and reading. I love the Book of Mormon and I know that it was
written for us and we have it for a reason. Read it and see for
yourself the blessings and joy that will come into your life as your
testimony and love for this gospel increases. :)
We took like a trillion pictures this week so enjoy! I love you all
and miss you :)
Happy Birthday shoutout to Hunter and Bostyn!!
Love,
Sister Munk!!
