December 28th 2015

Hello! I'm sorry my subjects are so lame hahaha
Anyways not a lot has happened since Christmas so I'll just update you
all on our investigators
Jeff
He is awesome. Like the most prepared person ever. He came to church
on Sunday for all 3 hours :) we don't know his last name yet.... Lol
but he is going to be baptized January 9th!!!!
Jamie
Jeffs wife. She is really sweet but not quite ready for baptism. She
wants to learn more and follow her husband soon but not yet... She is
really shy and hard to understand because she has no teeth but we love
her anyways.
Kevin and Sheri
They have been taught all the lessons they just need to stop smoking
and get married. Which is frustrating because they know they need to
but because of financial issues they can't for a while. They are
hilarious and call me Munk and they always tell me that they are
starting to like me more Haha the first day I met them they told me
they didn't like me so I told them well just wait you will! They
laughed and told me they would try and now they do!! Sheri reminds me
a lot of Kit Hunt which obviously means she is the BOMB .com.
Taiti
She is 11 and has autism. She is getting baptized on January 30th. She
is the cutest thing ever!!
Andrew and Lanaya
They are doing well but we can't meet with them for two more weeks and
in mission time that is a long time. So hopefully they are still doing
well by then!
I love you all and pray for my family and ward family and Bountiful
friends every night. Hope you have fun and enjoy the snow! Happy NEW
YEAR!
My New Years resolution is to eat healthy. (You guys I have already
gained like 5 lbs) we have to eat the food made for us so it isn't my
fault!! Haha
Love you all!!

Merry Christmas 2015

Merry Christmas everyone!!
Thank you so much for the sweet cards and
gifts :) I feel very blessed!!! I had a really awesome Christmas Eve
and I am having a great Christmas so far!! I got to Skype my family
which was amazing and so fun :) I sent a lot of pics so go check out
my blog! I am seriously just loving it here and doing missionary work
24/7 is the best. Everyone should go check out the A Savior Is Born
video that the church put out for Christmas. It is an awesome video
and we show it to everyone we meet. Challenge to everyone! Keep Jesus
Christ the center of your Christmas! Presents are fun and being with
family is great, but the reason we have Christmas is to celebrate the
birth of our Savior and it is easy to get distracted this time of year
but try it!! I promise that as you focus on the Savior this year you
will be blessed and happy :) I hope everyone has a safe and fabulous
Christ centered Christmas! Thanks to the Foxboro 5th ward for the
Christmas package it was so fun :) keep emailing me I love to here
from all of you :) remember Jesus Loves you and the church is true :)

There is POWER in PRAYER

Hello all!! This week flew by like crazy :) So where to start off.....
Tuesday! During our morning studying we both prayed really hard to find some new investigators maybe even a family. (We had been praying for this for a while) So after studying we got on our bikes and started to find some people. After being shut down like 4 or 5 times we met this Armenian girl named Lala... she was really nice and friendly and we ended up talking to her about the entire restoration and the Book of Mormon. We set up an appointment to meet with her again which she later cancelled but hey! We found someone and sometimes even if we never see them again we at least planted a seed of faith in her. Who knows what will happen with her but as missionaries sometimes that is all we can do. Also our investigator Jeff who we met the day Andrew died is amazing!!! We put him on date to be baptized January 9th :) When we taught him the word of wisdom he told us that he wasn't going to let anything stop him from getting baptized! SO COOL! His wife is not progressing as quickly which is totally ok because the gospel can be taught at any pace. She is new to the whole religion thing anyways but I have faith that Sister Wright and I are going to be able to help her gain her own testimony!! Pray for Jeff that he will be able to stop smoking and reach his goal of reading the entire Book of Mormon by January 9th. ( He is already half way through Mosiah so I am sure he will be able to do it!) Sister Wright and I keep joking that the rest of my mission is only going to get worse because it really can't get any better! All of our investigators are progressing and we have 4 baptisms scheduled for JAN. FOUR PEOPLE! ahhh miracles! But honestly it isn't anything that Sister Wright and I are doing. It is all Heavenly Father we are just his mouth pieces and messengers. I truly believe that because of the prayers that we say and the faith that we have that our prayers will be answered God is blessing us with people who are prepared to hear our messages.
The Mather ward RS party was Tuesday night and at the last minute they asked me to sing Oh Holy Night so I did and it wasn't the best at all but the spirit was so strong! It was awesome :) I decided that there is no better time to teach people about the gospel than during Christmas time! At night when its dark and cold (well 50 degrees ;) ) Sister Wright and I go from door to door and carol and then leave a message with them. Most of the time we never get a return appointment but at least we are able to use music to share our testimonies and messages! We have only had the door shut on us while we were singing twice hahaha who does that?!? Oh ya!!! So biggest MIRACLE ever! After the party we were pretty much just driving around aimlessly trying to decide where to go and then we saw someone and both of us had the feeling we needed to go talk to them. It was a young guy and his girlfriend. We went up to him and he told us his name was Andrew (not kidding) and that his grandfather was a bishop for the Mormon church and he had just passed away... he told us that he was really close to him and his passing was making him rethink everything. He really wanted us to come back and thanked us for talking to him. We are meeting with him on Friday and I am seriously so excited to talk to him!! Anyways mission life is great and I am loving it! I have smelled weed for the first time so that was fun... haha we are kind of in the ghetto so as soon as it gets dark we drive in our car because it is to sketch to ride our bikes but don't worry!!! We are safe hahahaha Sorry I don't have much time left but I love you all :) Send me Christmas letters :) Have a Happy Christmas and remember to keep it Christ centered because what kind of missionary would I be if I didn't say that.... LOVE YOU!

Trials...

The Faith of a missionary is remarkable. Sister Munks cousin Andrew returned to live with our Heavenly Father after taking his life at age 17. We will be praying for peace to be with her Uncle Jason, Aunt Erin and cousins Lauren and Cam at this time. After receiving the news from her Mission President this is the letter Sister Munk wrote to Andrews family.

You don't know how much I wish I could be home with all of you right now. The tragic events of the past day are heartbreaking and unbelievable. When President Jardine called and told me he needed to meet with me something told me that what he needed to talk to me about wouldn't be good. I just had a feeling of stress and anxiety when I got off of the phone with him. So on the way to the church I said a quick prayer to myself that Heavenly Father would be with me just in case. When we sat down President Jardine asked if he could start with a prayer so he did and in his prayer he prayed for our family and for our comfort at this time. That is when I knew something was wrong. When the prayer ended he looked at me told me what had happened. I couldn't believe it I was in shock. I started to cry and shake I felt so confused and heartbroken. I could not believe that this was happening to my family. After a little while President asked me to tell him about Andrew. I began to reflect on all of our memories together and I told him all about our fun summer vacations, all the late night movies and games. I told him how smart he is and that he loved sports and being active. I told him that although we weren't extremely close we still loved each other. We still had fun together and he is the only guy cousin close to my age so we had that special bond. I then asked President if he would give me a blessing and he did. During the blessing the most insane thing happened to me. While President Jardine was talking another voice came into my head and I heard "Andrew is ok he is with me" I know and can testify without a shadow of doubt that we have a Heavenly Father who loves us and knows us by name. He is with us in the worst times and in the best times if we let him. I know that right now it might be impossible to see that or feel that but I can promise you that if you let him he will comfort you. I am still kind of numb but it makes feel just a little bit better knowing that there lots of members of our family who have crossed through the veil welcoming Andrew home with open arms and I know that Heavenly Father is mindful of us. He is very much aware of what is going on with us emotionally, physically, and spiritually. I can testify to all of you that we are not alone in this. We have each other but more importantly we have our Heavenly Father and savior Jesus Christ. I know that Jesus Christ felt all the emotions we have ever felt or ever will feel. I know that all that is unfair about life can be made right through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I have a testimony that the Savior satisfied the demands of justice for us when he stood in our place and suffered for us. If I didn't know these things and if I didn't take the initiative to find out for myself I wouldn't be here. I am here because I have felt the power of the Holy Ghost work miracles in my life. I am here because I believe that we can have eternal families and all be together again. I want to share with others the joy and hope that these things give me. As a missionary I have the blessing of watching people's lives change for the better because of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I want you all to know how much I think about you and love you.
Erin, Jason, Lauren, and Cam: I love you so so much. I am so deeply heartbroken for you guys. Please know that I am praying for you and thinking about you. If you need to talk or vent please email me. I don't know if I will have any answers but I promise that I will try my very best to help you. I encourage you to talk with your Heavenly Father tell him how you feel, be honest with him I promise that he will listen. A scripture keeps coming to mind it is 2 Nephi 4:20-19 "My God hath been my support; he hath led me through mine afflictions in the wilderness; and he hath preserved me upon the waters of the great deep. He hath filled me with his love even unto the consuming of my flesh." I am praying for you guys. I love you and miss you.
Love Sister Munk

Off to Cali....

Sister Munk got on a jet plane and headed to
Sacramento California.
Her departure time was 3 am.
She was able to call and talk to her family before leaving
she is happy, loved her companion,
loved the MTC and can't wait to
get working in Sacramento!!

This is Sister Munks first email from Sac, Cali.

Hey family!! I made it and the flight was really awesome except my ears were hurting really bad and my left ear still hasn't popped but oh well. It is definitely warmer here but of course I am still cold because I am always cold. So far I am the only sister but President and Sister Jardine just left to go pick up another sister form the airport. She is speaking spanish so she was in the Mexico MTC but really she is from Layton. Anyways, President and Sister Jardine are awesome and I already know that I am going to love them. I miss you guys and can't wait to tell you all about arriving and settling in on Monday. Love you lots!
